Gangwon, Incheon, and Chungbuk K-Quantum Bio Mega Cluster (K-QBT)

Gangwon, Incheon, and Chungbuk are establishing a mega-regional cluster by converging quantum technology and 
biohealth. Connecting the distinct strengths of Gangwon (Quantum R&D), Incheon (Bio Commercialization), and 
Chungbuk (Advanced Bio) through a Hub & Spoke model, this large-scale initiative brings together 139 participating 
institutions with a total project budget of KRW 124.71 billion. Through the K-Quantum Bio Alliance, comprehensive 
support is provided to accelerate participating companies' growth, including technology exchange, market expansion, 
and investment attraction.

At this joint pavilion, the Gangwon·Incheon·Chungbuk K-QBT showcases key infrastructure and R&D achievements from 
industry, academia, research, and government sectors, featuring advanced equipment, innovative products, and cutting-
edge quantum chips.

1. Electron Beam Lithography System

[JEOL Ltd. - JBX-8100FS]
Established in 1994, JEOL KOREA LTD. is a leading company specializing in advanced research and analytical instruments. 
By manufacturing and supplying electron microscopes alongside cutting-edge analytical equipment, JEOL Korea 
contributes to the advancement of domestic basic science and research through professional technical support and 
services.

Notably, the JBX-8100FS installed in Gangwon State is a high-performance electron beam lithography system based on a 
100 kV acceleration voltage, supporting both High Resolution (HR) and High Throughput (HT) modes:

 - Minimum Line Width: ≤ 8 nm (HR mode)
 - Beam Diameter: Down to 1.8 nm
 - High-Speed Scanning: Up to 125 MHz
 - Field Stitching & Overlay Accuracy: ±9 nm level
 - Laser Measurement Resolution: 0.6 nm
 - Wafer Handling: Supports 6-inch and 8-inch wafer loading
 - Power Efficiency: Operates efficiently at a low power consumption of approximately 3 kVA

2. microCryostat

Leveraging 20 years of accumulated expertise in cryogenic technology, HANA Co., Ltd. provides essential cryogenic 
infrastructure for key future industries, including quantum computing, advanced semiconductors, and aerospace. The 
company is actively developing not only entry-level micro-cryostats (uCryostat) utilizing Stirling coolers, but also 4K-class 
cryostats integrated with 5 nm low-vibration control technology.

The Micro-Cryostat (uCryostat) is an RF probe station equipped with an ultra-compact Stirling cooler featuring a built-in 
compressor—sized similarly to a tissue box—that enables rapid cooling from room temperature down to 50 K (with high-
temperature options available) in under 30 minutes in a low-noise, low-vibration, and low-power environment.

5. SPD

Headquartered in Daejeon, South Korea, with an additional operating base in Alexandria, Virginia, USA, GQT Korea is a 
quantum technology company founded by the team that established South Korea's first industrial quantum 
communication research lab at SK Telecom alongside key personnel who contributed to global QKD (Quantum Key 
Distribution) commercialization at ID Quantique. The company develops field-deployable, certified, and mass-producible 
quantum technologies.

This high-performance single-photon detection system features a modular design based on Silicon Single-Photon 
Avalanche Diodes (Si SPAD), capable of detecting across a broad wavelength range covering visible and near-infrared 
(NIR) bands, while offering continuous detection in free-running mode without external synchronization signals, 
alongside high photon detection efficiency and an outstanding PDE/DCR ratio.

6. Quantum Bio-Sensing solution

Headquartered in Daejeon, South Korea, with an additional operating base in Alexandria, Virginia, USA, GQT Korea is a 
quantum technology company founded by the team that established South Korea's first industrial quantum communication 
research lab at SK Telecom alongside key personnel who contributed to global QKD (Quantum Key Distribution) 
commercialization at ID Quantique. The company develops field-deployable, certified, and mass-producible quantum 
technologies.

This integrated solution comprises a silicon single-photon detector, optical and control subsystems, a software development 
kit (SDK), and a reference design with a detection instrument (LuxCaptor), facilitating customer differentiation while 
delivering reduced development costs, faster time to market, and superior scalability.
