Company Introduction

Suwon City is the central hub of southern Gyeonggi Province, with a population of approximately 1.2 million. The city is home to 
Samsung Electronics’ headquarters, as well as leading universities and research institutions such as Sungkyunkwan University, Ajou 
University, and the Korea Advanced Nano Fab Center (KANC), forming a strong ecosystem for advanced industries and innovation. 
Building on these strengths, Suwon City is pursuing the designation of the Suwon Free Economic Zone (S-FEZ) and expanding its 
industrial foundation in key future sectors, including AI, semiconductors, and biotechnology.

In particular, Suwon is developing a vibrant biotechnology ecosystem centered around Gwanggyo, bringing together universities, 
hospitals, research institutions, and innovative companies. The city also hosts the Gwanggyo Quantum Bio Summit, a global platform 
designed to foster exchange and collaboration across quantum technology, biotechnology, and other advanced technology fields.

Through its participation in Quantum Expo Korea 2026, Suwon City seeks to showcase its advanced industry ecosystem and key 
initiatives, while expanding partnerships with companies, research institutions, and industry leaders from Korea and around the world. 
Suwon also aims to explore future collaboration between Quantum Expo Korea and the Gwanggyo Quantum Bio Summit, laying the 
groundwork for potentially hosting Quantum Expo Korea in Suwon.
